Both plans need a coding agent subscription of your own — Claude Code or Codex. Nothing here resells one, and nothing here marks one up.
Either of the two things that make the agent do real work: starting a new film, or asking for a change to one you already have. Eight of them a month on the free plan — so eight trailers, or four trailers and four rounds of changes, or any other combination. It is counted when the work is accepted, not when it finishes.
Starting it does. Resuming or recovering one that broke does not — that work was already paid for, and charging twice for one film because a render crashed would be indefensible. Pick the run back up with --resume and carry on.
You already do, and not to us. Studio is the harness; the intelligence is whichever coding agent you subscribe to — Claude Code or Codex — running on your machine, on your account, with your usage. We never see those tokens and never bill for them.
The count goes back to zero at midnight UTC on the first. Nothing carries over and nothing expires early.
The account falls back to the free allowance rather than locking you out, and the account page says so plainly instead of showing you a mysterious Free badge. Fix the card in the billing portal and the plan resumes.
From the billing portal, any time, without talking to anybody. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Run npx @videoflow/studio. It prints a code, you approve it in your browser, and the first film is on the free allowance — no card.
